Darara is a very bright young man and his grateful spirit is encouraging to everyone he meets.
Watch the video (read the subtitles for your little kiddos) and then discuss Darara’s story together.
TALK ABOUT IT
Children who live in poverty do not have access to their basic needs. Darara was not able to afford new clothes so he wore the same thing all year.
Darara says that his life now doesn’t compare to the life he used to live before 30 Hearts.
Darara is grateful and thanks and prays for those who have helped him live a better life.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.
Why can Darara look back at his suffering and still be grateful?
How does it feel to know that one day we will see Jesus and nothing will compare to it?
How can we live now since we know that one day all things will be made right?
Darara’s life before 30 Hearts was difficult. But now, he has everything he needs and is living a much better life. The struggles we experience in life may be difficult now but they can’t compare to how great it will be when we are with Jesus! Praise God that He is better than anything we will experience in this life.
Close in prayer
Father, we thank you for giving us what we need and for always being with us. We praise you for being with us even when we go through hard things. We are grateful you were with Darara and you brought him to a home and a family where he can have everything he needs. Lord, you are good and we can’t wait to be with you in heaven one day! Amen.
Together as a family, ask each other some of these questions. This is a fun way to learn what each other’s favorite things are. After going through the questions, end your time by reminding each other that even though all of our favorite things are good and special, nothing can compare to God, who is greater than all!
