We started with 30, but our hope has always been to restore the hearts of many more orphaned children.

This all started on May 1, 2015 in a small rented space where 30 orphaned children were united with Christian women from their community in Bako, Ethiopia. New families were created as the 6 women began to each raise 5 children.

Thanks to the generosity of many people, new homes were built for the families and they moved in on Feb 4, 2019. The homes were built on a 2 acre section of land that the Bako government provided for free.

The plan is to build a thriving Family Development Center where new families are created and current families in the community can be strengthened.

God continues to provide and we have reached our goal for the next phase! In 2020, the project will expand with the construction of staff offices, meeting spaces, an educational center that includes a library, study rooms, computer lab and more!

The site plan have been designed by Sai Sinbondit, an architect and artist based out of Washington, D.C. Sai’s work focuses on community development using design as a tool to promote social change. We are so grateful for his work on all the details relating to the design and execution of the building project.

We plan to continue updating the Family Development Center and hope to add more homes in the next few years. Help us expand this project to reach more orphaned children with the love of a family.
