We started with 30 children but our hope has always been to restore the lives of many more orphans
30 Hearts opened the first New Family Development Home in 2015 by bringing in 30 orphans and uniting each child with a woman from their community in Bako, Ethiopia. 6 permanent families were created as the women became new mothers by adopting 5 children each.
The plan is to expand the project to reach more children by building multiple New Family Development Homes on a large section of land in Bako. This secured location will include the homes, a playground, library, first aid room and staff offices.
With your help, we can build the New Family Development Homes and 30 Hearts can change the lives of many orphans in Ethiopia for years to come.
The homes have been professionally designed by Sai Sinbondit, an architect and artist based out of Washington, D.C.
Sai’s work focuses on community development using design as a tool to promote social change.
